Analysis using the dissimilarity-overlap curve method demonstrated the pervasiveness of consistent community dynamics in every system studied. The steep negative slopes indicated that communities composed of the same taxa across different plants showed a similar dynamic over time. The observed dominant niche-based assembly mechanism, as indicated by both the Hubbell neutral theory and the covariance neutrality test, supported the notion of similar compositional dynamics in all communities.
